Thinking Space

I often go to the sea when I need space to think. I find the wide open spaces and the light shake me out of the little boxes that I live in in my day to day life. The screen, the car, the studio. Recently the seas have been turbulent and full of wild energy, but this evening there was a calm, a window of quiet before the next storms battered us. It was one of those evenings where even though the layers of my clothing couldn’t keep out the cold, I just couldn’t leave the beach until the last colours faded.

Yes there are some wonderful spaces that protect us and you can take home for keeps.

The mountains and the sea have provided us with so many metaphors down the years; these landscapes reflect our internal landscapes and the complexity of their moods can echo our own.
