Do yourself the favor and dive into the realms of Deimos, Mimas, Phobos, Mavec, Callisto, Charon, Tethys and many more, where you'll start to fear creatures that you've never heard of and where you'll agonize and laugh alongside the main characters. The only reason it wasn’t 5 stars for me is how the mate bond shaped Isla and Kai through the story. I think it was a lot of build up for nothing in the first part and I remember thinking, that could have been cut completely and it wouldn’t hurt. But that’s just me.

This author is absolutely talented and I can't believe that this is her first book ! The plot has unexpected turns and has you constantly on your toes ... the story itself flows so easily and the amazing thing is that it seems to have its own category ! I've read a lot of werewolf books - it's nothing like the classic "bad boy alpha and poor damsel in distress".

This book was an amazing work of fantasy and I enjoyed it immensely. I always find myself at a loss for words when I finish a truly impressive book, I just don’t have the words to do it justice. Lastly, we have the insta-lust, which I don’t mind even if it’s not slow burn (which this actually was so thank God) but my issue is after they mate?! Instantly, and I mean, automatically, they exchange I love yous and it’s all understanding and mate bond and sensing each others feelings and blah blah blah 😒 The overall storyline of the show is a cleverly condensed dramatisation of events that actually took place in the period between circa 800 and 880 and led to the birth of the first English kingdom. The fictional Ragnar Lodbrog (Lothbrook) character as well as Ladgerda (Lagertha), Aslaug (aka. Kraka) are described by the Danish historian Saxo Grammaticus who lived in the 1200s. Most likely, Saxo deliberately used the actual viking king Godfred as his inspiration. I loved the way mental health struggles around trauma were presented. It was so visceral and deep. Chaotic and yet, so easy to follow. It felt like my own brain quite frankly. From the mysterious deaths to the entertaining battles this book keeps you on the edge of your seat and has you on a rollercoaster of emotions!

What did you think of "Warrior's Fate"? Will you miss Torstein? Is Floki getting on your nerves? Does Harbard posses special powers? How do you feel about Lagertha and King Ecbert? Your turn friends, please hit the comments and share your thoughts with me.Isla is the FMC who was strong, sassy, fierce and protective of those she loved. Kai is the MMC who was brooding, powerful, protective and loving. Isla and Kai met and their mating bond snapped but both decided it's better for everyone to separate their ways. But little did they know? Fate put them on a same path again and it's complicates their decision without touching each other. Only tension is high. Besides that, Isla and Kai faces the mystery that looms over Deimos history and suspicious those they trusted but who to trust in the end? The war is threatening between two powerful territories and Isla is caught between. The Vikings begin climbing the mountain to meet with Princess Kwenthrith's brother and his army. Princess Kwenthrith asks Ragnar to spare her brother. When they are unable to see over a cliff of the mountain, Torstein volunteers to go first to make sure Princess Kwenthrith's brother and his army are there, and dies valiantly. Fighting ensues, Þórunn is severely injured, and eventually, Princess Kwenthrith’s brother surrenders. This is a slow burn but there is spice - around the 60% mark. It was well written and I appreciated that it was something earned rather than just handed to readers. There is some building with a conflict brewing and the empire at risk but I found there were a couple areas I got a little list in (especially when the finale came) but I did find myself in the end. I hope with the second book we get to see more of the world. I initially thought it was high fantasy but there are phones, cars, etc so I am curious to read more descriptions - especially because I have aphantasia so I need detailed descriptions of locations or I get lost.
